Flights and Connecting Travel
If you are travelling to Adventure for Good from outside New Zealand the closest international airport to our centre is Auckland International Airport (AKL). It takes a further four hours to drive by passenger vehicle, or seven hours by bus, to arrive at our HQ in Russell. Should you wish to make this journey by bus, Intercity provides a daily service from Auckland International Airport to the nearby township of Paihia, after which you must take a 10 minute passenger ferry to arrive in Russell.
The closest domestic airport to Russell is Kerikeri (KKE). Flights depart from Auckland Domestic Airport (10 minutes’ walk from Auckland International Airport) to Kerikeri Domestic Airport three times daily. You will need to arrange a shuttle from Kerikeri to Russell. A shuttle service operated by Super Shuttle services all Air New Zealand Link flights and connects the airport with Kerikeri, Paihia and the Bay of Islands.
Your flight needs to arrive in Auckland, New Zealand at least 24 hours prior to the start of your course. If you would like assistance booking your flight, please let us know and we can put you in touch with our travel agent. If you are eligible for a flight grant, an Adventure for Good representative will contact you to arrange finance.
Please advise Adventure for Good of your travel plans prior to departing so we can meet you on arrival.
PASSPORTS & VISAS
If you are traveling to Adventure for Good from outside New Zealand you must hold a valid passport on arrival to the country. The passport must be valid for at least three months past the date you plan to leave New Zealand.
You will need to apply for a visitor visa before you come to New Zealand if you are not from a visa-waiver country. For more details on how to apply for a visitor visa please contact Immigration New Zealand or visit www.immigration.govt.nz.
People from visa-waiver countries who are visiting New Zealand for three months or less do not need to apply for a visa before travelling to New Zealand. On arrival in New Zealand, they will be asked to provide:
- travel tickets or evidence of onward travel arrangements
- evidence of funds (Access to an additional NZ $400 per person per month is sufficient for
Adventure for Good crew who have already paid their course fees)

We strongly recommend that you secure comprehensive travel insurance to cover medical assistance, flight cancellations and the loss of personal belongings. Should a programme be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, Adventure for Good will not be held liable for any travel expenses or penalty fees incurred.
